Adrian Pagliaroli

People describe my work as intentional. Confident.
My mom says it should be in a museum.

In 2023 my photography won GOLD for the RSM
Creative Choice Awards.

BIO

Being creative has been a defining part of my persona since youth, but creativity is expressed in many forms. I used to be awestruck by the physical humour Michael Richards displayed in Seinfeld, as the character Kramer. A Speedy auto service commercial from the early 2000’s is etched into my memory. Reading the Harry Potter series in my youth inspired me to write short stories, for a short time. The grunge band Nirvana pushed me to learn guitar. The Blair Witch Project left me sleepless for nights, how could I be scared of the witch? We go the whole film without seeing it!

This was all creativity in action, there are plenty of mediums and countless ways to express it and an infinite number of ways it can have an effect on someone. How would I express mine? In high school I opted for art and architecture class, while I learned how to draw a city scape with a near perfect horizon and vanishing point, most of my friends were in shop class. Is that still what the call automotive class? I don’t know. Today, I can’t draw any better than any of those friends can do an oil change. It took some time to find the avenue of creativity that would stick.

My first exposure to a camera not on the back of a phone was in post-secondary. Third year. I didn’t have an interest in it. My enrolment in university was broad, I took Media Communications, photography was just a small piece of that education. Timing is everything, I guess. Years after graduating and cycling through uninspiring jobs in various fields, I started shooting as hobby. After being away from my inner creativity, photography is what brought me back. And I have no idea where photography will take me next.

Today, you can find me delivering high quality assets across various brand campaigns, e-commerce lookbooks, product launches and model tests. I grew up an introvert, I don’t know where this ability to excel across diverse creative challenges in team settings came from. Maybe it comes from tapping into a part of me that has always defined me.

I still get nervous before shoots, but it is the perfect blend of excitement and nervousness that helps me shine. Those feelings are what grounds me and reasserts that I’m in the right place at the right time.

This shoot evolved a bit from its conception as most shoots do. As pieces fell into place, Fashion, Form & Flavour began to lean more into a conceptual beauty shoot than an edgy fashion creative.
